Thank you Nancy for everything. I always respected Nancys abilty to teach but her sincerity of spirit is what always shone through. I was on vacation in Mexico when I saw that she had passed. I will so miss new material from her, but will enjoy her materials for decades to come. When I I read Sewing with Nancy I was deeply moved by all the trials and tribulations that she went through as a young person and as a college student; then more and more health issues that followed. Saturday morning watching Sewing with Nancy is a ritual in my house. My seams were not straight I could not even cut a piece of material straight and right. We never met personally but like a sister I never had she was there on the tv chatting with me as if I was her dearest friend. Oklahoma's Pardon and Parole Board on Wednesday denied Glossip clemency even though Oklahoma's own Republican attorney general has sought to vacate Glossip's conviction. Ive learned so much & have been so inspired by watching her show! My heart goes out for you. I wish Nancys daughter-in-laws and grand-daughters would continue by reading one of her books and doing projects in them. Her books and videos have given me so many wonderful Ideas and creations that make her live on for me. [1] She married Richard Zieman in 1977. This one is much lighter and easier for me when I take it with me for these sewing groups and it has just the basic stitches I need for sewing quilts, pillowcases, Cancer hats, and bags for beads for children undergoing chemo. I was lucky enough to get to meet her once when she was in Omaha, Ne. This special DVD sharesan exclusive visual account of Nancys life story in a very personal and memorable way. She was a teacher, innovator, and a role model for business women. Still watching her programs on PBS. It has really blessed my life. I recorded her quite a few of her shows and enjoy reviewing them. I attended a seminar in Beaver Dam and I so enjoyed listening and watching her teach and entertain. She acted like I was the only one there, never hushed me or said Im sorry I have others to cater to. She has left her mark on my life and I am forever changed. I am pushing 73 years YOUNG & I have been watching Nancy on PBS in Virginia Beach VA. Now that I have a computer I can watch more shows on my time as they never have them on enough for me. Both of my children, Dave and Laura, learned to sew, and my daughter has a small sewing business which helps to pay for fees associated with international adoption. Zimmerman is the first pianist to have recorded the complete works of Scott Joplin and in 1987 was awarded the first place prize "Champion Ragtime Performer of the World". I grew up watching Nancy see on TV. i was privileged to attend Pfaff conventions years ago when Nancy was an ambassador for Pfaff. I would love to hear the rest of the story. I miss the show so much. Although I never met her, I feel like we were good friends. I still use that philosophy with sewing or almost any task I tackle today. I wish many more years for her TV series and business. I also have Seams Unlikely. Havent been able to get the recent books, but would enjoy having them for my happy reading time. I do have her book Seams Unlikely. You learn something you might have missed before. There is a big gap in our day from when we watched her every morning. I love the was Nancy could make everything seem so simple and easy to do. Ive never forgotten. She was an amazing person. I have a library of many of her books n information. I have watched Sewing With Nancy for many years and have used so many of her instructions to help me with projects. I bought and have kept as references many of her books. I began watching sewing with Nancy Saturday mornings with my children. I have read her autobiography, and so enjoyed it there were times in her life journey when she was geographically close to where I was in Indiana. I was so saddened to learn of her illness and her finality here on earth. I still use many of the sewing shortcuts that were taught on the show. I have watched Nancys- Sewing With Nancy since she first started. I met her one time years ago and she was very friendly. Have learned so much from her. I was born into a family of women who sewed but I was never taught to sew. If I had a problem with a project, I knew where to go for help. She was so talented and a great teacher. Nancy was such an inspiration to so many. He is regarded as being one of the key figures responsible for the worldwide revival of ragtime. I was fortunate to meet her when she came to New York she was so gracious and wonderful. She was a great inspiration to many. I grew up with Nancy and have always admired her strength, courage and entrepreneurship. I retired as a hospice nurse 3 1/2 years ago and yet was heartbroken to read of her death after her brave battle with cancer. And it certainly did in Nancys life. She will always be an inspiration to me. Her legacy lives on. Thank you for giving us all a common thread. I am thankful that her show is still being shown on PBS. I won many championships in 4-H. I remember looking forward to watching Sewing with Nancy on Saturday mornings since I was young. Nancy had a gift for explaining things at just the right speed and showing details up close so that you could feel like I can make that! I enjoyed her humble, sweet spirit. William Co. I have been a sewer since about age 9 and I am now 86 and own and operate a small fabric store and do alterations and patching and so many thing I learned from Nancy have made it possible for me to repair many loved garments for my customers. Although she is missed, she lives on in each of us who remember and admired her. I have enjoyed watching how Nancy put things together and made it work out like it was made for that purpose. She was the kind of lady I would have loved to have as a neighbor! I too have been a teacher all my life. I never missed her show. I personally ally have been sewing and quilti g for many years. Many hide their pain while bringing learning and joy to others, would love to read Nancys story from her perspective, her husbands, her family and friends, all of us so blessed by her presence in our lives. I have several of her sewing and quilting books and still watch the old shows on PBS or on the computer. I want them to know the rest of Nancys story. I admired her in so many ways. I was so fortunate to meet her at a BabyLock event a few years ago. Over the years I watched many episodes of Sewing with Nancy and enjoyed every one of them. Nancy was an icon in the quilting word and will also be remembered for her great attitude and quilting ability, she shared so much expertise with everyone. After hearing so many negative messages I lost the desire to try. I would love to read Nancys the Rest of the Story. I have many of her books and they have been a tremendous blessing. BRAVO. She was genuine, humble, and a very lovely true lady. She married Richard Zieman in 1977. I sadly never got to meet her in person, but feel like she was a dear friend. When Nancy did a class in Sacramento, she autographed some brand new Baby Lock Ellissimo embroidery machines. Then she helped me stand up. Although I never met her here on earth, I pray I do in heaven. I started watching Sewing with Nancy on PBS when it first began. She faced physical challenges most of us wont have to face, yet with her Godly faith and good family-ethics upbringing, she did not use her physical setbacks to keep her from moving forward and reaching toward goals. Her legacy is that she continues to be an exceptional teacher. My daughter is very involved in the Cosplay and she did a wonderful visit with that. Her methods are so senseable and easy to understand. I cont to enjoy her presentations on public tv. Have followed Nancy for years and learned so much from her. She gave me insight and something to look forward to. Some of the times of growing up that my 4 children seem to talk about more than I ever expected are about my religiously watching and taping Sew with Nancy. In those years I was able to attend the sewing conference in Puyallup, Washington and would always make sure I spent some time at Nancys booth. I continue to be inspired each time I pick up one of Nancys book that accompanies todays program. Look forward to this continued story.
